Fore! Four out or four, to be precise - Gráfica-Link win the contract to maintain the Honours Boards for the home Golf Club at Alto Club, Alvor. This means we're now regularly upkeeping Honours Boards for the Clubs and Societies at all four Pestana Algarve golf courses; Alto, Gramacho, Pinta, and Silves.
We'll also be producing a logo design for reproduction in print, and embroidered onto club merchandise.
We accomplished this with the combination of a heavier brushed font plus creative outlining and emphasising of their original icon.
Our first month in Lagos, and Gráfica-Link have been commissioned to redevelop the existing logo design for popular local Surf Shop, Jah-Shaka. Our final design needed to boost the impact and dynamism of the original design without reducing its recognition or weakening the brand.
Gráfica-Link provided a slide-show for the launch of "The Siege and Conquest of Silves 1189 - a tale of the Third Crusade by an Anonymous Crusader", held in the Library lecture theatre of Silves Municipal Library. Local figures such as Isabel Soares (President of Silves County Council), Rogerio Pinto, Rosario Bual (heads of division of Silves County Council) and Maria-José Mackaaij (Director of Silves Municipal Library) plus many residents, friends and family were also in attendance.
The Library lecture theatre was full almost to capacity to hear author Jon Wilson deliver an engaging presentation introducing not only the book and the inspired team behind it (photo above courtesy Silves Municipal Library), but also the character of the Anonymous Crusader and what could only have been his 'journey of a lifetime'.
Gráfica-Link goes West! Although Silves will continue to be our administrative base, JJ Lane's recent move from Porches to Lagos means our design base will now be in Lagos.

In addition, author Jon Wilson plans to add a 'back-catalogue' of posts to chronicle how the Anonymous Crusaders' story was brought to life.

In the run-up to publication of their book, Mesquita Press have again partnered with Gráfica-Link, to design and build their website. We've opted to develop their website using the popular Wordpress platform, as this will give the Mesquita Press team total control over the finished website, to Blog the progress of their publications.
Local author Jon Wilson launches Mesquita Press to publish his non-fiction book "The Siege & Conquest of Silves 1189". As well as employing our services to manage pre-production and publication of the book, Gráfica-Link have been asked to forward proposals for their logo design and assist with the book launch later in the year.

Gráfica-Link and Network, the Business-Womans' Association of the Algarve, begin a working relationship that would last a number of years, successfully expanding, developing and maintaining the groups' website until the Association had grown sufficiently large to employ full-time staff to manage the project in-house.
When asked to provide a range of Honours Boards for the Golf Association based at the Pestana Gramacho clubhouse, Gráfica-Link teamed up with expert local carpenter and cabinet-maker, Joe Norris.
The combination of his traditional wood-working and finishing skills with our modern signage techniques has proven to be a lasting success - regular updates are made to the boards as directed by the Association, and we also now tend to the Honours Boards at the Pestana Pinta, Silves and Alto courses.
Plus, regular commissions from well-known Algarve businesses such as Fleet Street Lda. helped establish our reputation for cost-effective publicity work, by providing opportunities to design advertising for the Algarve Resident, the most popular local English-language newspaper.
The addition of a number of local property management and sales agencies to our client-base provided many positively-met challenges throughout 2004 - Algarvida Lda., VDM Propriedades and Algarve-Villa-Rentals.com kept us more than busy, which allowed us to expand into, equip and staff a new office in Carvoeiro.
The contract to publish "The Algarve, Then & Now", a book by local writer Jenny Grainer, served to demonstrate how flexible Gráfica-Link can be. The project required that we embrace new pre-production techniques and liaise with larger printing facilities in order for it to be a success.
